The Yahweh Chromosome

Ok, so I was driving a couple of weeks ago and I saw something really cool. I was thinking about the name of God and something came into my mind that kind of blew me away. One of the names of God is "Yahweh." However, when then the hebrews originally spelled the name of God they spelled it YHWH. They did not use any vowels.

Now, here is what is crazy. I was thinking about chromosomes in men and women. having X and Y chromosomes. A woman has 2 X chromosomes and a man has an X and a Y chromosome. If you look under a microscope at the X Chromosomes, these X's could also appear as H's instead of X's. If you turned an X sideways, the X could also appear as a W.

Now, what would happen if you put this together - YXXX or YHWH. It's a little bit of a stretch. However, in my mind's eye, I saw the YH of the man and the WH of the woman coming together. In essence, the unification of the man and woman were forming the name of God. I felt within me that God wrote His will on our hearts as man and woman come together. The name of God is written in unity.

The Toolbelt of Deception

In an earlier blog, I wrote about Craftiness, which is the art of Deception. I write about deception as a secondary topic because deception is different from Craft. I thought about deception in a very interesting way the other day that I had never seen before.

In Ephesians 6, it talks about the girdle of truth being one of the components of the armor of God. In fact, it was the first piece of the armor mentioned. I don't know if that's relevant, but I believe it is. As I was thinking about this, I was also thinking about deception and it all came together in my mind:

IF THE GIRDLE OF TRUTH IS TO EQUIP THE SAINTS FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, THEN THE TOOLBELT OF DECEPTION IS TO EQUIP THE ENEMY TO DESTROY

In the book The Screwtape Letters, C.S. Lewis describes how an elder demon is teaching the younger demon the ways of darkness and temptation. In essence, the elder demon is equipping the younger demon to do evil works.

I could just see in my mind Satan congratulating each demon as he passed OPPRESSION SCHOOL. As they would pass, he would hand them a diploma and their very own toolbelt of deception. As they learn the darker things of Satan, they learn meaner and meaner tricks to deceive and destroy humanity.

A New Formula!

New! Increased Spiritual Authority = (Person A + Person B)(Unity)
(Spiritual Authority is multiplied by unity - Rick Joyner)

Overcoming Fear = (Courage + Faith) * Time

Deception = Truths of God (positive) * Lies of the Enemy (negative)
(Satan's biggest deceptions are when he adds on to a truth of God)

Racism = Pride + Fear

Satan's Stronghold = (Satan's lies + Wounding + Sins) * (Repeated over time)

God's Fortress = (God's Truth + Armor of God + Love) * (Repeated over time)

Evil Authority = Dominance + Arrogance + Sake of Self
Godly Authority = Shepherd + Responsibility + Sake of Others

Life = (Focus on Kingdom) * (Time with God) - (Focus on Self) * (Time on Self)
"He must increase, I must decrease"

The Danger of Demanding Authority

So, I got convicted me of another thing the other day. I was in a place where I demanded authority - meaning, I demanded to be in a place higher than I was. I demanded to be the first and head. That is not what Christ came to do.

Mark 10:45
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
NASU

I believe it was Allen Smith who had said that Portals of Authority are opened by submission. That was so powerful to me. Authority is not given by rising above but by coming low with a servant's heart - by obedience and by being subject to rule and authority oneself. Jesus came to fulfill the law.

I believe it was Allen Smith who also made the comment that if each person in the church would operate in the faith that they've been given, then we would have a much more powerful church. I have recognized that I have operated in more faith than I've been given. By this, I mean that I had deceived myself in thinking at times that I was at a place that I really wasn't at. Hence, the art of pride.

I was also thinking about how Kim drew a picture of a teeter-totter the other day that was straight across. It wasn't up and it wasn't down. If we operate too far above faith, our heart is prideful. If we operate too far below faith, our hearts become doubtful. Satan will whisper to us in one of these areas. The goal then is to have a BALANCED LIFE.

I was convicted and at that moment I pictured my friend Robert. I greatly respect Robert because he is a man who is humble and does not demand that he be at the top. He hasn't demanded that others see things his way. He has a servant's heart, and because of this, I feel that God can open portals of authority for him. Robert, I have great respect for you my brother and friend! Thank you for being a part of my life and setting a Godly example.

In all this I learned several valuable lessons:

1) All authority is from God. God lends His authority to His people
2) In prayer, I am starting to pray that Christ lend the fullness of His authority to His people
3) In prayer, I am also asking that we come to that balance point where we stand in the full measure of the faith that God has given us
4) In prayer, I am asking that we would walk in humility so that Christ can reign supreme in His authority through us

Frameworks: Craftiness

Kim and I got into a discussion the other day about craftiness, so I thought I would research it some and here is some interesting stuff. I had also read about it a little while back but it never hit home how big craftiness was until now.

THE CAUSE = CRAFTINESS

One of the most critical aspects about the Christian life is being aware of and guarding against craftiness. Someone who is crafty is someone who takes you in by their deception. In fact, Satan is the author of craftiness. He was the first rule-bender and breaker. It is also interesting to note that commentaries such as Eastmon's also attributes Craftiness to Jezebel, possibly alluding to craftiness being the basis for the JEZEBEL SPIRIT.

CRAFTY = SATAN'S FIRST ATTRIBUTE

VERSES:
Genesis 3:1 - "Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field..." NASU
Job 15:5 - "For your guilt teaches your mouth, And you choose the language of the crafty. NASU
2 Cor 12:16 - "...crafty fellow that I am, I took you in by deceit." NASU

IF CRAFTINESS IS THE ART OF DECEPTION, THEN OBEDIENCE IS THE ART OF TRUTH

ASPECTS OF CRAFTINESS:

Finding Brilliant Ways to bend the rules (Rick Joyner - Foundations)
Avoidance of Obedience (Rick Joyner - Foundations)
Seeks to bring discord and division (Rick Joyner - Foundations)
Skillful in Deception; cunning; sly (Dictionary)
Causes us to question truth and/or God's commands

COMBATTING CRAFTINESS:

VERSES TO COMBAT CRAFTINESS:

Rom 16:17-19

17 Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. 18 For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.
NASU

PRINCIPLES TO COMBAT CRAFTINESS:

Jesus came to fulfill the law (Rick Joyner - Foundations)
Look for ways to obey the rules not get around them
Be careful of those that seek to disrupt unity
Guard unity and fellowship (Rick Joyner - Foundations)
Be careful of those with flattering lips

ELIMINATING CRAFTINESS IN YOUR LIFE:

Confess and repent of seeking to get around obedience
Confess and repent of disrupting unity
Confess and repent of Flattery

Another Eye

Perhaps someone can help me out with this one. I have seen another eye in my prayers. I wrote about the first two images in the blog "Two images of darkness." Now I have seen a third and so I don't know what it means. I saw this one when I was praying yesterday morning.

I looked and I saw another eye. This eye was larger than the first two, in fact, much larger. The first pair of eyes were small about the size of lemons or a little smaller. The second eye was about the size of a head. The third eye was very large and covering my entire mind's eye - like the size of a house.

On the top of the eye was a small crown. The crown was too small for what I would think would fit the eye. The crown was white and looked more like a tiara than a golden crown that we would think of like a king's crown. I didn't see the crown too much, it was more in my peripheral vision but I knew that it was there.

Over the eye was a veil. The veil was white like a bride's would be. I even heard the word bride as I was seeing it. The eye itself had a long black slit for a pupil just like the others. The color on the outside edges but inside the eye was black. It reminded me like the inside of one of those 8-balls - kind of liquidy and black.

In the area around the pupil, the color was light brown and gold. The gold was interesting because it was not stationary. It almost looked like fireworks of reactions going off in the midst of the light brown background. These fireworks of reactions were captivating and almost hypnotic. As your attention sees them, they are drawn to them more and more. The rest of the picture fades and all you see are the fireworks inside this eye.

So, why in the world am I seeing these eyes?

Forgive me for believing the lies of Self-Sufficiency

I cried yesterday. I cried because God touched me in some areas of my life that I didn't know I was fallen in. I was reading in Rick Joyner's book, "50 Days for a Firm Foundation," and he makes two statements that hit me "It is the ultimate human arrogance for us to think that we can understand God" and... "Profound pride causes us to think that we can fix ourselves."

These two phrases got me thinking about how much I felt I could understand. I believed all kinds of lies that I didn't even know that I believed.

Here are some of the lies my heart believed:

1) I don't need others
2) I can fix myself
3) I have to do everything by myself
4) I haven't learned anything from my parents
5) I have taught myself everything
6) I could learn any skill by putting my "mind" to it
7) I am self-sufficient and independent
8) I could stop any job at any time because I had the giftings for whatever
9) I didn't need my bosses
10) I can learn from others for the sake of making it my own gifting

You want to talk about arrogance. That is arrogance in its purest form. How disgusting is that? Paul says "What a wretched man that I am." "I am chief among sinners." Now I know more of what he was talking about. "He must increase, I must decrease."

God, forgive me for believing in the lies of self-sufficiency and for the sin of pride. You alone are worthy. Scripture says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The focus is on you God, not on me. Forgive me for taking my focus off of you and putting it onto me. God, we need help from you to know anything accurately. Thank you God for bringing others into my life. Thank you for opening my eyes to know that I need others. Thank you God for refining our minds so that we can see how much we thrive off of each other.

Friends, I need you. My words have sometimes come off as arrogant and for that I am very sorry. If I have ever made you feel rejected, I am sorry. If I have ever made you feel not needed or not important, I am sorry. If you ever hear my arrogant words, call me on it. If you ever hear that self-sufficiency in my voice, call me on it. Help me because I do not see my own stuff.

God works through the vine, through the cluster. It is through each other that our purposes are made known. It is through each other that His glory is magnified. It is through each other that our needs are met. It is through each other that we are sharpened. We need each other. To say that we need God and not need each other is a lie. It means that we are saying we don't really need God. To say that we love God and not each other means we don't really love God.

Our God is an awesome God! Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

Testing The Spirits

Original Date: 3/2/09

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned to someone "You have to test the spirits." The person responded by saying "How do you test the spirits." What a most excellent question! How does one test the spirits?

1 John 4:1-6

4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. 4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 5 They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
NASU

If you think about a test from school, what are you doing? You are undergoing a series of questions to determine your knowledge about a subject. In the spiritual realm it is we who are asking the spiritual questions. Spiritual questions help us to determine whether something is Godly or not. It is saying "Yep, that's correct" or "Nope, that is not correct." It can also help us determine if something is a false prophecy. This is using the mind to test something.

Here are some questions in order to test the spirits (via the mind):

1) Does this source's words line up with the word of God?
2) Does this source's words claim the death and resurrection of Jesus?
3) Does a prophetic word hold true in the timeframe in which it is given?

In school, you might have also done some Chemistry experiments. Have you ever used a litmus paper to determine if something was an acid or a base? If you touched the litmus paper to an acid, such as in a lemon, the litmus paper would turn red. If you touched the litmus paper to a base, such as in detergent, the litmus paper would turn blue. This indicates that there is a difference in chemical make-up and chemical properties that will change the paper two different colors. I see the litmus test in the spiritual realm as determining the properties and compounds that make it up. Because of this, testing the spirits is not just in the mind and words, it is also in the heart.

Here are some heart tests to apply to a situation:

1) Is the word or situation condemning or edifying?
(Note: A word from God might not always be pleasant.)
2) Is a word of truth spoken in love?
3) Does the word or situation feel dark/deceptive or light/truthful?
4) Is the intent self-focused, others-focused, or Christ-focused?

There is a difference between charm and charisma. They both draw people in but one is for good and the other is not. There is a difference between prophetic and psychic. The same rule applies. Someone could be a charming prophet or a charismatic psychic. We all can operate under different spirits so be careful of what you operate under. Be also careful to test what other people say and do. If we are not careful, we can fall into the trap of believing everything we hear or becoming cynical and not believing anything.

We need to be especially careful in the areas in which we are most trusting. Trust is a good thing but it can also be the playground for manipulation.

Examples:

Words of Destiny - If I trust in the words of destiny, then I am subject to being attacked by them. For example, if I received a prophetic word, and I did not test that word, then I would be deceived into an alternate destiny out of God's will.

Words of Identity (Positive) - If I trust in words of Identity, then I am subject to being attacked by them. If someone bragged on me and told me how good I was, then it could be a way to increase my pride. A positive word may not be what I need if my ego is already inflating.

Words of Identity (Negative) - If I trust in words of Identity, then I am subject to being attacked by them. Typically, a negative person is cynical or self-defeating in some way. If that's the case, then negative words will be echoed on a regular basis to further perpetuate the downward spiral.

Listen to the words, test them, find out what God says about them.

Cornerstone Qualities

In a previous posting, I had talked about how Simon Barjona was given his name. He was given the name Peter or "Rock." A recent conversation with Wanda King compelled me to revisit this topic in order to clarify meaning. This was an interesting conversation because I feel it led me to a new understanding to calling. The wording I had used in the blog implied that Peter was "the rock" of the church, implying Jesus was not. This was not my intent but interesting to say the least.

The following is my understanding of Peter's position based on reflecting on the conversation with Wanda and reflecting in the word.

Here are the verses in the NASB

Matt 16:15-20
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" 16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." 17 And Jesus said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 "I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. 19 "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven."
NASU

Simon here is acknowledging the name given to Jesus. The name gives the identity , the calling, and the authority given by God. Jesus uses the phrase "I also say that you are..." revealing that it was, in a sense, His turn to share with Peter his destiny and calling. The original term, Petra, means a large, massive stone. This implies that Peter was unable to be moved. He was solid and unwavering.

Each of us is given a name that reflects our identity and calling. We are each a mirror of God reflecting different attributes of God. No one person reflects all the attributes of God. In this particular situation, Jesus was giving Peter his name reflecting His solid foundation, His immovable nature. Peter's mission was to reflect the solidity of God.

For this reason, Peter was given a high honor. Because Peter reflected Jesus's cornerstone qualities, he was given authority as one of the founders of the early church. It was his mission to pass along the unshakable foundations of God to each of the members of the body of Christ. God's word, from Christ through Peter would be solid and grounded, and thus, he was trusted with the "Keys of the Kingdom."

It is only in that state where we are solid and grounded in His word and who He is that we can be trusted with the Keys of the Kingdom!

Frameworks: Ungodly Fear

Original Date: 3/2/09

The Cause : Ungodly Fear

Verse - 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind."

Position - If Michael is an archangel in heaven, Fear is a General in Hell

Quotes - Publilius Syrus said: "Valor grows by daring, fear [grows] by holding back.
Check this out - http://www.personal-development.com/chuck/fear.htm

If you fear God, you will fear nothing else. If you don't fear God, you will fear everything else. (Unknown source)

Definition - Ungodly Fear is a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc. whether real or imagined (Source: Dictionary)

Purpose - designed to cloud the mind to slow down or stop the Godly progress of a believer. The more fear is acted upon, the more it flourishes. It is self-perpetuating. Fear is allowed in this world because without fear, courage could not exist. Fear is allowed so that it can be overcome. The fear of the Lord replaces the spirit of fear.

Effects of Fear - Perfection, Sensitiveness, Nervousness, Tension, Anxiety, Worry, Nightmares, Fear of Man, People-pleasing, Panic Attacks (Source - Deliverance Prayer sheet given to me)

Overcoming Fear - Sometimes fear is overcome by new wisdom. Proverbs 1:7 says "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." So, when we fear God, he gives us new wisdom. When we have the wisdom to take authority over the next situation, then fear has to depart. However, sometimes wisdom is not always available to us and we must step out in faith. Therefore, in faith, courage must rise up in us if we are to overcome the next fear. In each instance, ungodly fear must be replaced with something of God.

Frameworks: Introduction

Original Date: 3/2/09

I've been learning lately something very interesting about cause and effect. When the wind blows, the leaves move. You can't see the wind blow, but you can see the leaves move. Another example is like when the weather turns colder, the leaves change color and eventually die. Something has changed in the natural realm and it has caused a change in the life around it. You can't see the wind blow or the temperature change, but you can feel it. You can also see the effects of the wind and the cold.

The same is true in the spiritual realm. There are events that happen that cause a change in the environment. Life is altered or lost. However, just as you can see the change in leaf color and know that there was a temperature change, you can also see the spiritual effects and trace it back to a source. So, the question is: what do you look for? How do you know when life has been lost in the spiritual realm? Once we recognize the causes and effects, then we can pray more effectively into situations and circumstances.

I have started noticing that various authors and other people will make references to the effects of spiritual phenomenon that they see. They may not know that it is part and parcel to understanding for everyone else to be able to recognize and thus combat sin and death in this world. So, any time I see something that helps give me a "framework" of understanding about a topic, I will jot it down in this journal.

*** Note: Those with the gift of discernment can see the cause and the effect immediately. However, not everyone flows in discernment. I usually have to see the effect before I can see the cause. ***
